Accessibility statement.
Last reviewed: 2026-05-02
Quietfield is committed to ensuring that quietfield.in is accessible to everyone, regardless of disability or the technology used to access it. This statement describes the current accessibility status of the site and how to reach us if you encounter a barrier.
§1 Conformance status
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all pages of quietfield.in. This is a self-assessment; the site has not been audited by an independent accessibility specialist. We believe the site substantially meets Level AA, but we acknowledge that automated tools and self-review cannot catch every issue.
The site is built as a static site with no client-side JavaScript except a small inline timestamp gate on the contact page. All content is rendered server-side and available to assistive technologies without script execution.
§2 Technical approach
The following practices are in place across the site:
- Skip navigation link — a "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Semantic HTML — headings follow a logical hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3). Landmark regions (
header, main, footer, nav) are used throughout. - Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible and meet 3:1 contrast ratio against adjacent colours.
- Colour contrast — body text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio. Large text and UI components meet 3:1. Contrast has been verified in both light and dark modes.
- Colour independence — information is not conveyed by colour alone. Status indicators use both colour and text labels.
- Responsive layout — the site reflows for any viewport width without loss of content or functionality. Text can be enlarged to 200% without horizontal scroll.
- Reduced motion — all animations are disabled when the user's operating system preference is set to "Reduce motion".
- No time limits — the site contains no time-limited content except the contact form's spam-prevention timestamp gate (a 3-second minimum interval that does not restrict legitimate users).
- Language — the page language is declared as
lang="en"on every page. - Link purpose — links are written so that their purpose is clear from the link text alone, or from the surrounding context.
- ARIA — ARIA attributes are used where HTML semantics are insufficient. We follow the ARIA Authoring Practices Guide.
§3 Known limitations
We are not currently aware of any specific accessibility failures on this site. If you encounter a problem, please tell us (see §5 below) and we will address it promptly.
The site embeds no third-party widgets or iframes. All assets (fonts, scripts) are self-hosted, so there is no reliance on third-party accessibility behaviour.
§4 Compatibility
The site is designed to work with:
- Any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — current and previous major version)
- Screen readers: NVDA + Firefox on Windows; JAWS + Chrome on Windows; VoiceOver + Safari on macOS and iOS; TalkBack + Chrome on Android
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Windows High Contrast mode
- Browser zoom up to 400%
§5 Feedback and contact
If you experience any accessibility barrier on this site — or if you find that any part of the site does not work with your assistive technology — please let us know via the contact page. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to resolve confirmed issues within 30 days.
When reporting a barrier, it helps to include: the URL of the page, the browser and assistive technology you were using, and a description of the problem.
§6 Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant national authority in your jurisdiction. In India, you may contact the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. In the EU, you may contact your national Digital Accessibility Authority under EN 301 549.
