01 · HOW WE WORK

The standard.

Quietfield builds software that earns attention. That phrase is the standard. It means the work must be good enough to be found by the people who need it, rather than forced on people who do not. Every product leaves here finished. The definition of finished is the same for every product: every edge case considered, every word written carefully, every pixel checked, and the privacy policy filed before the extension lists.

Quietfield was started because the software we wanted to use did not exist, and because the tools available optimised for growth rather than for the people using them. The studio draws on prior work at scale — including product design on Tata Neu, India's largest super-app — and applies what that taught about the cost of noise.

The operating rule is: if a feature makes the user's field noisier, it does not ship. This applies to every product decision, every design choice, every interaction. The rule is reviewed monthly to keep it from becoming habit rather than intention.

Work ships when it is finished, not on a calendar. There is no roadmap. There are no pre-orders or public betas. When something is ready, it is announced. Until then, it is not discussed.

02 · WHO

Run by Akash Kumar.

Akash runs Quietfield, a long-horizon software studio in Delhi. Previously led product design on Tata Neu, India's largest super-app, where he learned what shipping at scale costs in user attention. He writes here about privacy, design, and the work of finishing things.

04 · WHAT WE PUBLISH

Products, writing, and policy.

Quietfield publishes software at quietfield.in/products/, writing at quietfield.in/blog/, and legal documents at quietfield.in/legal/. The current product — Chat Privacy Screen — is available now on the Chrome Web Store. Every product has a public privacy policy hosted on this domain; the policy for Chat Privacy Screen is at quietfield.in/products/chat-privacy-screen/privacy-policy/. Future products will follow the same pattern: quietfield.in/products/[product]/privacy-policy/.

How the site itself is built is documented in the colophon.

If a feature makes the user's field noisier, it does not ship.
